Young people need high quality guidance and advice from their high schools to achieve postsecondary success. However, momentum in providing that support has been uneven across the country. This is magnified by a lack of shared understanding about what good guidance should look like.
To address this challenge, the Framework for High Quality Advising articulates the components necessary to ensure that ALL students receive high quality college and career support in high school. Based on a comprehensive review of academic research on advising and a diverse set of state and local postsecondary planning tools, this framework has been extensively vetted by students, school counselors, principals, district leaders, and leaders in postsecondary access from across the country.
Whether your school or district is just beginning this work, or is far along in its adoption, we believe this tool can powerfully focus your energy and resources where they will have the greatest impact.
